www.desatech.com 116646-01H24Removing Glass DoorIf replacement of glass is necessary, theentire assembly, glass and frame, must bereplaced. If glass is broken, wear gloves andtape remaining fragments onto frame.1. Remove screen/rod assembly from fire-box, push rod either left or right and thendown and forward. Set assembly aside.2. Lift up on latches to unlock. There aretwo on top of firebox and two belowfirebox that hold glass door in place (seeFigure 42).3. While holding glass door to prevent it fromfalling and causing injury, remove the fivescrews from hinge located on left side ofdoor frame assembly (see Figure 42).4. Remount new frame at hinge with fivenew screws before closing door. This willensure seating of gasket.5. Close glass door frame. Lock latches byplacing bar under tab on door and pushingdown and back on latch (see Figure 42).6. Replace screen/rod assembly by revers-ing step 1.7. Let cool beforeinstalling brick liner.This brick liner kit is optional. You may pur-chase brick liner from your local retailer orsee page 37.CAUTION: Always handlebrick panels with two hands.Do not force brick panels intoplace. Excessive force will breakbrick panels.1. Remove top and bottom louvers to allowaccess to door latches.2. Unlock door latches and open glass door.See steps 1 and 2 of Removing/ReplacingGlass Door, page 23.3. If installing brick liner in new fireplace,go to step 4. If installing brick liner in anexisting fireplace, carefully remove logs,lava rock and ember material.4. Remove three screws from deflectorshield on the inside top of firebox. Setshield and screws aside.5. Install rear brick panel first. Rest bottomedge of panel on back edge of grate (seeFigure 43).6.
