Alsodouble check all wire leads and make sure wirerouting is not pinched or in a precarious position.Correct accordingly.8. Turn on power to duplex outlet if previouslyturned off per the warning in column 1,page 19.9. Plug in blower power cord to duplex outlet.10. The blower will only run when the speed controlknob is in the ON position and the thermal switchsenses temperature after the fireplace begins toheat up. The blower speed can be adjusted byrotating the control knob. To turn off, turn knobfully counterclockwise until it clicks off. If theblower is ON and has been running with thefireplace operating, the blower will continue torun for a short time after the fireplace has beenturned off. As the thermal switch cools down, theblower shuts down automatically.11. Peel off the backing paper and stick the sup-plied wiring diagram decal on the firebox bot-tom approximately 12" in front of the blower(see Figure 27, page 20).Blower Wiring DiagramCAUTION: Label all wiresprior to disconnection whenservicing controls. Wiring errorscan cause improper and dan-gerous operation. Verify properoperation after servicing.FIREPLACEINSTALLATIONContinuedFigure 29 - Blower Wiring Diagram forThermostat-Controlled ModelsBlueVariableFan Switch Fan Switch(N.O.)GreenWhiteOn110/115V.A.C.BlowerMotorBlackOff 12 BlackINSTALLING GAS PIPING TOFIREPLACE LOCATIONWARNING: A qualifiedservice person must connectfireplace to gas supply. Followall local codes.CAUTION: For propane/LPunits, never connect fireplace di-rectly to the propane/LP supply. This heater requires an externalregulator (not supplied). Installthe external regulator betweenthe fireplace and propane/LPsupply.Installation Items NeededBefore installing fireplace, make sure you havethe items listed below.• external regulator (supplied by installer)• piping (check local codes)• sealant (resistant to propane/LP gas)• equipment shutoff valve *• test gauge connection *• sediment trap• tee joint• pipe wrench• approved flexible gas line with gas connector(if allowed by local codes)* A CSA design-certified equipment shutoffvalve with 1/8" NPT tap is an acceptable alterna-tive to test gauge connection. Purchase the CSAdesign-certified equipment shutoff valve fromyour retailer. For propane/LP connection only, the installermust supply an external regulator. The externalregulator will reduce incoming gas pressure. Youmust reduce incoming gas pressure to between11 and 14 inches of water. If you do not reduceincoming gas pressure, fireplace regulator dam-age could occur. Install external regulator withthe vent pointing down as shown in Figure 30,page 22. Pointing the vent down protects it fromfreezing rain or sleet.
