Alterations may have occurredduring shipping and handling. The pilot islocated on left hand side of burner.The flame must envelope 1/4" of top of theignitor/sensor and grounding stem.If your pilot assembly does not meet theserequirements:• Turn adjustment screw marked PILOTclockwise to decrease or counterclockwiseto increase flame to proper size (see Figure42, page 28). Do not remove adjustmentscrew.• see Troubleshooting, page 31BURNER FLAME pATTERNBurner flames will be steady, not lifting or float-ing. Flame patterns will be different from unitto unit and will vary depending on installationtype and weather conditions.If the vent configuration is installed incorrectly,flames will lift or "ghost". This can be danger-ous. Inspect flames after installation to ensureproper installation and performance.Figure 45 shows a typical flame pattern.If burner flame pattern differs from that de-scribed:• turn fireplace off (see To Turn Off Gas toAppliance, page 28)• see Troubleshooting, page 31located on the left side of switch bracket tothe right just inside louver panel.The BK manual blower and BKT thermostati-cally-controlled blower have an ON settingand an OFF setting. Blower will only run whenswitch is in the ON position. In the OFF posi-tion, blower will not operate.Note for BKT Only: If you are using BKTblower with optional thermostat (wall mountedor remote control) for fireplace, your fireplaceand blower will not turn on and off at the sametime. Fireplace may run for several minutesbefore blower turns on. After heater modulatesto the pilot position, blower will continue to run.Blower will shut off after firebox temperaturedecreases.The blower helps distribute heated air fromfireplace. Periodically check louvers of fireboxand remove any dust, dirt or other obstruc-tions that will hinder the flow of air.INSPECTING bURNERS
