Vacuum all glass pieces witha shop vac.CAUTION: Do not vacuum ifpieces are hot.Use only the tempered glass door replace-ment intended for this fireplace (see Replace-ment Parts, page 34 for detail on ordering).No substitutions may be made. See Remov-ing/Replacing Glass Door, page 24 for instruc-tions for replacing glass door.WARNING: Do not operate fire-place with the glass door unlatched,removed, cracked or broken.pILOT AND BURNERS• Remove ember material before cleaningburners and replace when cleaning iscomplete.• Burner and controls should be cleanedwith compressed air to remove dust, dirtor lint.• Use a vacuum cleaner or small, soft bristledbrush to remove excess dust, dirt or lint.LOGS• If you remove logs for cleaning, refer toInstalling Lava Rock and Glowing Embers,page 25, to properly replace logs.• Use a vacuum cleaner to remove anycarbon buildup on logs.• Replace log(s) if broken. See ReplacementParts on page 34.• Replace ember material periodically asneeded. See Replacement Parts on page 34.WARNING: Turn off fireplaceand let cool before cleaning.CAUTION: You must keepcontrol areas, burners andcirculating air passageways offireplace clean. Inspect theseareas of fireplace before eachuse. Have fireplace inspectedyearly by a qualified serviceperson. Fireplace may needmore frequent cleaning due toexcessive lint from carpeting,bedding material, pet hair, etc.GLASS DOORWARNING: Handle glassdoor panel with care. Do notstrike, slam or otherwise abuseglass. Do not operate fireplacewith the glass door unlatched,removed, cracked or broken.WARNING: Do not useabrasive cleaners as this maydamage glass. Use a nonabra-sive household glass cleaner toclean glass. Do not clean glasswhen hot.Glass must be cleaned periodically. Duringstart-up it is normal for condensation to formon the inside of the glass causing lint, dust andother airborne particles to cling to the glasssurface. During initial start-up a slight film mayform on the glass due to paint curing. Theglass should be cleaned several times with anon-ammonia, nonabrasive household clean-er and warm water after the first two weeksof operation. Thereafter, clean the glass twoor three times during each heating season,depending on the usage and circumstancespresent. Refer to Removing/Replacing GlassDoor, page 24 of this manual when removingglass door for cleaning.
