Heater may needmore frequent cleaning due toexcessive lint from carpeting,bedding material, pet hair, etc.WARNING: Failure to keepthe primary air opening(s) ofthe burner(s) clean may result insooting and property damage.BURNER INjECTOR HOLDERThe primary air inlet holes allow the proper amountof air to mix with the gas. This provides a cleanburning flame. Keep these holes clear of dust, dirt,lint and pet hair. Clean these air inlet holes prior toeach heating season. Blocked air holes will createsoot. We recommend that you clean the unit everythree months during operation and have heaterinspected yearly by a qualified service person.We also recommend that you keep the burner tubeclean and free of dust and dirt. We recommendusing compressed air no greater than 30 PSI. Yourlocal computer store, hardware store or homecenter may carry compressed air in a can. You canuse a vacuum cleaner in the blow position. If usingcompressed air in a can, please follow the direc-tions on the can. If you don't follow directions onthe can, you could damage the pilot assembly.Before cleaning, shut off the unit, including thepilot. Allow the unit to cool for at least thirtyminutes. You will need to remove the front log toaccess the front burner.1. Remove the two screws that hold the front logbracket onto the assembly (see Figure 23). Thelog is attached to this bracket. Gently lift upon the log and bracket. Set aside.2. Inspect burner and primary air inlet holeson injector holder for dust and dirt (seeFigure 24).3. Blow air through the ports/slots and holes inthe burner.4. Check the injector holder located at the endof the burner tube again. Remove any largeparticles of dust, dirt, lint or pet hair with asoft cloth or vacuum cleaner nozzle.5. Blow air into the primary air holes on theinjector holder.6.
