Theelectrical connection must comply withLocal Supply Authority Regulations andAS/NZS 3000.Any electrical covers should be removedonly by a licensed tradesperson, andonly after the electrical supply to thewater heater has been isolated.In addition to the PTR Valve, electricstorage water heaters are fitted witha combination thermostat and over-temperature energy cut-out.This device must not be tampered withor removed. Replacement of this devicemust only be carried out by a licensedtradesperson or the manufacturer.The water heater must not be operatedunless this device is fitted and inworking order.Danger:The operation of the over-temperatureenergy cut-out indicates a possiblydangerous situation. Do NOT reset theover-temperature energy cut-out untilthe water heater has been serviced by alicensed tradesperson.Not Using Hot Water?If the water heater is not used for twoweeks or more, a quantity of hydrogen(which is highly flammable) mayaccumulate inside the water heater tank.To dissipate this gas safely it isrecommended that a hot tap be turnedon for several minutes at a sink, basinor bath, but not a dishwasher, clotheswasher or other appliance.During this procedure there must beno smoking, open flame or any otherelectrical appliance operating nearby. Ifhydrogen is discharged through the tapit will probably make a sound similar toair escaping.Safety Information
