18 Using the remote controlDX-32L200NA14Using the remote controlInstalling remote control batteriesTo install the remote control batteries:1 While pressing the release latch on the back of theremote control, lift the battery compartment coveroff the remote control.2 Insert two AAA batteries into the batterycompartment. Make sure that you match the + and –symbols on the batteries with the + and – symbols inthe battery compartment.3 Replace the battery compartment cover.Aiming the remote controlTo aim the remote control:• Point the remote control towards the remote sensoron the front of your TV.Turning on your TV for the firsttimeThe first time you turn on your TV, the Setup Wizardopens. The Setup Wizard guides you through setting upbasic settings including the menu language, time setting,picture mode, and the TV signal source.To set up your TV:1 Make sure that you have:• Installed the remote control batteries. (See page18 for details.)• Connected an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV.(See page 8 through 10 for details.)• Connected the power cord. (See page 17 fordetails.)2 Press (power) to turn on your TV. The Choose YourMenu Language screen opens.3 Press S or T to highlight the language you want,then press ENTER. The Choose Your Time Settingscreen opens.4 Press S or T to highlight Mode, then press W or X toselect Manual (to set the date and time manually) orAuto (to set the date and time automatically from aTV signal source based on the time zone you select).5 If you selected Auto for Mode, press S or T tohighlight Time Zone, then press W or X to selectyour time zone. You can select Eastern, Central,Mountain, Pacific, Alaska, Hawaii, Newfoundland,or Atlantic.6 If you selected Auto for Mode, press S or T tohighlight Daylight Savings, then press W or X toselect On (if your viewing area observes DaylightSavings Time) or Off (if your viewing area does notobserve Daylight Savings Time).7 If you selected Manual for Mode, set the date bypressing S or T to highlight Year, Month, or Day,then pressing W or X to adjust the setting.Cautions• Batteries should not be exposed to excessiveheat, such as sunshine, heat registers, or fire.• Battery chemicals can cause a rash. If thebatteries leak, clean the battery compartmentwith a cloth. If chemicals touch your skin, washimmediately.• Make sure that batteries are disposed ofcorrectly.
