Upon receipt, inspect theshipping container for signs of damage. Unpack the elbowand inspect it thoroughly for damage incurred duringshipment. If damage is discovered, file a claim with thecarrier immediately.Handling and storageBe careful during handling and storage of the loadbreakelbow to minimize the possibility of damage. The elbow connector should be installedand serviced only by personnel familiar with goodsafety practices and the handling of high-voltageelectrical equipment.CAUTIONOptional Capacitive Test Point Operating Instructions:Use only voltage indicating instruments specificallydesigned for test points. Use of conventional voltagesensing devices may provide false “No Voltage”indications.The test point must be dry and free of contaminantswhen checking for voltage. After indication is taken:clean, dry, and lubricate the test point cap with siliconegrease and assemble to the test point.Always consider the termination to be energized untilthe test point “No Voltage” indication is confirmed byother means.CAUTIONElbows with tan cuffs (QuickMake probe) must bemated only with 21.1 kV 1Ø rated bushings (identifiedby tan nose pieces).
