Create an installation plan for the IAC-D (Chapter 3).2. Prepare your site for the IAC-D (Chapter 3).3. Inspect and unpack the IAC-D (Chapter 3).4. Unload and install the IAC-D, and wire the system (Chapter 4).5. Complete the Installation Checklist (Chapter 4).6. Have authorized service personnel perform preliminary operational checks and start up the UPS system.3.1 Creating an Installation PlanBefore installing the IAC-D, read and understand how this manual applies to the system being installed. Usethe procedures and illustrations in this section to create a logical plan for installing the IAC-D. This sectioncontains the following information:l Physical features and requirements, including dimensionsl Power wiring installation information3.2 Preparing the SiteFor the UPS system to operate at peak efficiency, the installation site should meet the environmentalparameters outlined in this manual. The operating environment must meet the weight, clearance, andenvironmental requirements specified for the applicable accessory cabinet.3.2.1 Environmental and Installation ConsiderationsThe UPS system installation, including the IAC-D, must meet the following guidelines:l The system must be installed on a level floor suitable for computer or electronic equipment.l The system must be operated at an altitude no higher than 1500m (5000 ft) without derating. For additionalassistance with high altitude operation, contact an Eaton service representative (see paragraph 1.8).l The system must be installed in a temperature and humidity controlled indoor area free of conductivecontaminants.Failure to follow guidelines may void your warranty.The basic environmental requirements for operation of the IAC-D are:- Recommended Operating Range: 5–40C (41–104F)- Maximum Relative Humidity: 95%, noncondensingThe IAC-D ventilation requirements are shown in Table 3-1.NOTE Startup and operational checks must be performed by an authorized EatonCustomer Service Engineer, or the warranty terms specified on page W-1 becomevoid. This service is offered as part of the sales contract for the UPS. Contact anEaton service representative in advance (usually a two-week notice is required) toreserve a preferred startup date.
