Loctite Superflex® #596 Silicon Sealantwill begin to set up and skin over in ap-proximately 10 minutes. The wear platemust be fastened to the mating compo-nent within 10 minutes of applying thesealant.6.4.7 Install the new screw s and locknuts providedw ith the w ear plate replacement kit and securefinger tight.To prevent excessive warpage and to en-sure a good seal, the following hardwaretightening procedure must be followed.6.4.8 For each w ear plate being replaced, follow thetightening sequence show n in Figure 23 forthe first 16 screw s. The remaining screw smay be tightened in any reasonable crossw isepattern. See Table 12 for tightening torques.Allow the Loctite Superflex® #596Silicon Sealant 24 hours to completelycure before performing the followingleak test procedure.6.4.9 24 hours after completion of assembly, eachw ater cavity should be checked for leaks.Premature pressurization may cause leaks6.4.9.1 Using lifting straps, suspend each assemblyw ith the w ater outlet port at the 12 o’clockposition. Connect a w ater supply line to the in-let port (at 6 o’clock position). See Table 13 forw ater port size.6.4.9.2 Slow ly fill w ith w ater to purge all air from w atercavities.6.4.9.3 Install a pipe plug in the outlet port and apply45 PSIG (3.1 bar) w ater pressure measured atthe inlet. Maintain this pressure for 30 minutes.6.4.9.4 Check for leakage at O.D. and I.D. seal areas.NO leakage is allow ed.6.4.9.5 If the assembly leaks, check the torque on eachscrew and retest. If leaks still occur, the w earplate(s) may be damaged.
