4 Operating the device4.1 Function messages34 CMD(220-240VAC), CMDB 12/17 MN121002ZU-DEEN www.eaton.com4 Operating the device4.1 Function messagesThe CMD contactor monitoring device is fitted with two internal LEDs forstatus indication at the device.Figure 5: LED indicationa A green LED labelled “Contr.” (Control)The “Contr.“ LED indicates the control for the CMD and the contactor.b A green UVR (Undervoltage Release) LEDThe UVR LED indicates the state of the power supply to the undervoltage release.If the LED is off, the circuit-breaker has been tripped by the undervoltage release.4.2 Test functionThe control system must be tested regularly during operation via the “Test”button. An annual test is sufficient. The test determines the reliableoperation of the undervoltage release. The test button must be provided withanother NO contact in addition to the NC contact for the actual test.This contact signals the test to a PLC which then indicate the next testinterval.4.3 Behavior in case of disturbanceIf the CMD features a failure or defect, it has to be replaced.① ②￫ The test should be carried out in no-load conditions.
