It is carefully calibrated, adjusted,and in good condition when accepted by the carrier forshipment.Upon receipt, inspect the carton for signs of damage.Unpack the control and inspect it thoroughly for damageincurred during shipment. If damage is discovered, file aclaim with the carrier immediately.Handling and storageBe careful during handling and storage of this equipment tominimize the possibility of damage. In particular, protect thebushings and control equipment.If the unit is to be stored for any length of time beforeinstallation, provide a clean, dry storage area. If the recloseris to be stored in a humid atmosphere, make provisions tokeep the cabinet heaters energized.ANSI® standardsThe VSA recloser is designed and tested in accordance withANSI® standards: C37.60 and C37.85.Quality standardsISO 9001 certified quality management systemDescriptionA complete assembly consists of the recloser control unit,the vacuum interrupter assemblies, and the operatingmechanism housing.Recloser tripping employs stored spring energy. When thetrip solenoid is actuated by the 24 Vdc trip signal, the storedspring energy is released to open the recloser. The 24 Vdctrip signal is originated at the recloser control. The 240 Vdcsupply is not required to trip the recloser. An external 240Vac source is required to operate the drive motor. A 120 Vacinput power supply accessory is also available.Type VSA reclosers are electronically controlled by Eaton’sCooper Power series recloser controls.
