The approval / warranty isotherwise null and void.• The installation contractor shall supply the warranty forthe assembly work.• Warranty and liability claims for bodily injury or propertydamage are excluded when these are attributable to oneor several of the following causes:• Fire protection enclosures are not used as intended.• Inappropriate installation, commissioning, operation, andmaintenance.• Non-compliance with instructions regarding transport,storage, operation, and maintenance.• Unauthorised structural modifications on fire protectionenclosures.• Inadequate monitoring of installed safety features, im-proper repairs.• Catastrophic failures due to third-party influences andforce majeure.Industrial property rightsUtility patents were filed with the German patent office toprotect innovations and the design.GeneralWe expressly reserve the right – also without separate no-tice – to make technical changes designed to improve theenclosures or to comply with changes in the law.All the information and instructions in these mounting andinstallation instructions were drawn up in accordance withthe valid provisions, the latest state of technology and ourlong-term knowledge and experience. The mounting andinstallation instructions must be stored in the immediate vi-cinity of the equipment, and must be accessible at all times topersons who work on or with the equipment. These mountingand installation instructions must be read thoroughly beforebeginning work of any kind on or with the equipment!1.6 CopyrightThese mounting and installation instructions must be treatedconfidentially. They are strictly intended for use by personsworking on or with the equipment. All the material infor-mation, texts, drawings, pictures and other illustrations areprotected within the meaning of copyright law.1.7 Spare partsOnly use the manufacturer's original replacement parts.Incorrect or faulty spare parts can result in damage, malfunc-tions, or a complete failure of the equipment.In the event of the use of unauthorised replacement partsall the guarantee, service, compensation and liability claimsbecome null and void.1.8 DisposalUnless a return or disposal agreement was concluded, dis-mantled components must be recycled after having beenproperly disassembled.2 SafetyAt the time of its development and production, the devicewas manufactured in accordance with the recognised tech-nical rules and is deemed to be operationally safe.However, the equipment could be dangerous if is not usedby specially trained personnel, if it is used for purposes forwhich it is not intended or if it is used incorrectly.The special regulations on pages 2 – 6 in this manual mustbe observed.The standards and regulations issued by VDE and DIN mustbe observed.You must ensure:• that the codes issued by fire protection authorities areobserved and adhered to;• that the codes issued by construction oversight agenciesare adhered to;• that the codes in the technical construction codes for yourstate are observed - you must review the sample cableinstallation guidelines [Musterleitungsanlagen Richtlinie- MLAR];• that the fire resistance duration and structural integrityof the fire wall on which the equipment is installed is notcompromised by attaching the enclosure;• that the enclosure has no signs of damage, e.g. cracks ordislocated insulation;• that the enclosure is closed at all times when in operation;• that the door swing is kept free of obstructions at all times;• that the stability of the enclosure is ensured. Damage ormalfunctions on the enclosure must be repaired by CEAGauthorised staff;• that the additional instructions in the respectively latestprospectus are adhered to. The regulations in the generalconstruction oversight permit Z-86.1-46 regarding the lay-out, mounting, cable feed, etc. must be observed.2.1 Approved useThe fire resistant cabinet, Type DualGuard-S ESF30, is usedas a battery-supported monitoring and power supply devicefor the safety lighting. It must only:• be used as intended, and• be operated in impeccable safety-technical condition.The enclosures consist of coated, non-metallic, plate-shapedcomponents, and are coloured light-gray (similar to RAL7035)on the outside. The edges have a contrasting colour.These operating instructions must be accurately observedwhen working with these products and to correctly handlethe cable grommet.Any other uses are not approved.
