FAILURE TO DO SOCOULD CAUSE PERMANENT EQUIPMENT DAMAGE.1.4 Product OverviewThe Diesel Plus Controller is a comprehensive, multi-functionmicroprocessor based Fire Pump Controller.Designed to meet the needs of markets worldwide, the DieselPlus controller is certified by the following authorities:Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Factory Mutual Research (FM),Canadian Standards Association (CSA), New York Departmentof Buildings (NYSB), and meet CE and U.B.C. / C.B.C. Seismicapproval requirements.2. INSTALLATION AND ELECTRICALCONNECTIONS2.1 MountingCarefully unpack the controller and inspect thoroughly.The Diesel Plus controller is designed for either wall or floormounting. Note that the controller is not free standing and mustbe mounted with feet or bolted securely to a wall. Fordimensional and weight data please refer to the respective datasheets for the various types of Diesel Engine Fire PumpControllers.2.2 Pressure Sensor ConnectionsThe Diesel Plus is equipped with a pressure sensor. Thecontroller is provided with a 1/4" NPT female system pressureconnection located on the bottom, external side of theenclosure. The connection should be installed as per NFPA, 20.The pressure sensor and internal plumbing components arerated for a maximum of 500 PSI.2.3 Electrical ConnectionsNOTICEALL CONDUIT CONNECTIONS TO THE CONTROLLER ARE RECOMMENDEDTO BE INSTALLED ON THE BOTTOM OR LOWER RIGHT SIDE OF THECONTROLLER. REFER TO THE ASSOCIATED DIMENSIONAL DRAWING FORREFERENCE. DRILLING OR INSTALLING CONDUIT ABOVE THEMICROPROCESSOR BOARDS WILL VOID WARRANTY.All electrical connections should meet national and localelectrical codes and standards.The controller should be located or so protected that it will notbe damaged by water escaping from pumps or pumpconnections. Current carrying parts of controllers shall be aminimum of 12 inches (305 mm) above the floor.Prior to starting, verify all data on the nameplate such as:catalog number and AC line voltage.Inspect all electrical connections, components, and wiring forany visible damage. Correct as necessary. Ensure that allelectrical connections are tightened before energization.Refer to the appropriate field connection drawing affixed to theenclosure door, for all wiring information pertaining to theincoming AC power supply, batteries and engine wiring.Terminals 1 through 12, 301, 302, 303, 304, 310, 311, 312 locatedon the lower terminal block, are for interconnection to therespective terminals on the diesel engine terminal block.Incoming AC line voltage is clearly marked L, N and G (ground)located on the lower terminal block.Install necessary conduit using proper methods and tools.Terminals 11 through 34, located on the customer connectionsside of the I/O board are for connecting various input devices tothe Diesel Plus. The customer Input terminals on the I/O boardare designed to be used with dry (voltage free) contacts. |
