The chief concernwith deploying IEEE 802.15.4 networks is the potential impact on existing Wi-Fi deployments. Both Wi-Fi (802.11) and IEEE 802.15.4have the IEEE 802 family of wireless standards in common and share the same radio spectrum. For an 802 standard to be approved, aCo-existence Assurance document must be approved which ensures that the proposed standard will coexist with existing 802 standardswhen operating at the same time.
