DNP3 Ethernet Communication Setup Configuration UtilityPXM 4/6/8K DNP3 Ethernet Communications User Manual MN150005EN January 2017 www.eaton.com5.4 DNP3 Input/Output SetupAs explained in Section 2, it is necessary to create aDNP slave database in PXM meter so that data can beexchanged with the DNP master. Organization of this data-base may vary from application to application dependingon needs of the situation. Therefore, it is up to installer tocorrectly configure this database to get appropriate results.Appendix A provides a list of PXM meter parameters / vari-ables which can be added to the PXM DNP slave database.Using the DNP Input/Output web page, the User can selectand configure the required meter parameters for the spe-cific requirement. List in Appendix A has been prepared bykeeping reference to the MODBUS address and length. Forthe encoding of these parameters, the User should refer tothe MODBUS section.Figure 12 shows simple steps to prepare the DNP slavedatabase in the PXM meter.DNP3 database configuration can be done with the Userinterface provided on DNP3 Setup -> DNP3 Input/Outputweb page. The DNP3 database is arranged in tabs asexplained in the followingFigure 12. Steps to Prepare the DNP Slave Database in the PXM Meter.Figure 13. DNP3 Input/Output Page.
