1-1EATON Powerware® 9390 IDC Installation and Operation Manual S 164201560 Rev C www.powerware.comChapter 1 IntroductionThe Powerware ® 9390 Integrated Distribution Cabinet (IDC) is designed for use with thePowerware 9390 family of three-phase uninterruptible power systems (UPSs). The IDCprovides the following custom configurable features, enabling adaptation and expansionwithout costly electrical rework: Power distribution options distribute power to servers or racks via distributionpanelboards, or distribute power to larger loads via distribution circuit breakers. Maintenance Bypass (MBP) and Maintenance Isolation (MIS) breakers enable power tocompletely bypass the UPS power module. The UPS module can then be serviced orreplaced in complete safety, without interrupting power to critical systems. An optional Bypass Input Breaker (BIB) and Rectifier Input Breaker (RIB) provide a singlewiring point input to the UPS and a convenient method for removing power from theUPS, when using the maintenance bypass to supply the load. Voltage transformation allows changes to output voltage levels. For example, 480 Vacoutput from the UPS can be converted to 208/120 Vac output to serve single-phaseloads.The IDC is housed in a single, free-standing cabinet, with safety shields behind the doorsfor hazardous voltage protection. The cabinet matches the UPS cabinet in style and color,and can be installed in line-up-and-match or standalone configurations.
