This function allows for disarming/arming of thesystem by a remote means i.e. key switch or relay controlled by 3rd party systemssuch as a fire alarm system. It is a useful feature when the VoCALL 5 is located in apublic area and unwanted use needs to be controlled.otee:n Care should be taken during commissioning to ensure a jumper is fitted duringstandard applications.6.2 Powering UpCarefully check the outstation wiring then apply AC power to the VoCALL 5 unit- DO NOT commission on batteries as the power supply has a large reservoircapacitor which may rupture the battery fuse if the AC is not present when poweringup the system. Once the system is powered, the battery leads can be attached tothe battery.7. BatteriesThe VoCALL 5 requires 2 x 5Ah sealed lead acid batteries to provide backup powerin the event of mains failure. Check with local codes of practice for the duration andtype of backup required. For longer standby or operation times larger batteries will be required, these willneed to be fitted in an external battery enclosure, the monitored charger in theVoCALL 5 is capable of charging and monitoring up to 2x12V 12Ah batteries.otee:n The VoCALL 5 is supplied without batteries which shouldbe procured separately and be of adequate capacity to meet local regulations.
