Do not use anyother test connection to perform4) When the test pin is inserted, the integrated earth connection can be disconnected bypulling the earth tube to the front. See figure 4:Figure 4: Pull the earth tube to the front5) The test voltage can now be applied to the cable via the test pin(s).After finishing this test the earth tubes must be pushed back into the front for safelyearthing the test connections again.6) To switch the Xiria switchgear back in Service position:• Push the earth tubes back into the front• Remove the test pin(s) from the test connection• Lock the access the the test connections openings by turning the interlock knob clockwise.• Put the CTF front plate in the upright closed position and lock it wht the front knobs and optionallywith the padlock.7) Switch the Xiria switchgear in Service position. See figure 5:Figure 5: Service positionThis document is an addition to the general Xiria manual.Refer to the manual for other operating instuctions.With the Cable Test Facility (CTF) the primary cable can be tested up to 12kV withoutopening the cable compartment door. This is done by replacing the integrated earthconnection with the test pins. Disconnecting the earthed connection and access to the testconnections with the test pins is only possible when the breaker is closed in earthed position(Earthed cable position).1) Switch the Xiria switchgear to Earthed cable position. See figure 1:Figure 1: Earthed cable position2) Open de CTF front cover plate by removing the padlock (if placed) and turn the frontknobs anti-clockwise. See figure 2:Figure 2: Open de CTF frontAttention:For safety reasons the CTF front cover plate is earthed with an earth wire. Do notremove this wire.3) Release the test connection openings by turning the interlock knob anti-clockwise invertical position and insert the test pin(s).
