Before edging, check the areaand remove all obstacles andobjects that could be thrown.3. Plan to edge regularly to makeit easier to keep a neat edgeand to avoid having to makemore than one pass.Note: Blade depth may have tobe adjusted due to differ-ences in height betweenthe hard surface and thetop of the grass.Never adjust blade height with engine running, otherwise seri-ous personal injury may result.4. Loosen adjustment knob andadjust the blade's depth of cutto produce a fine cut betweensidewalk and grass using aminimum blade depth, usuallywith about 13 mm (0.5 in.) ofthe blade into the ground.Tighten adjustment knob.5. Before edging, plan your direc-tion of travel so that the unit willalways be positioned on yourright side and so that you walk on a hard surface whenever possible.6. Hold edger as shown.Before edging, be sure to read and understand the entire Oper-ator's Manual to avoid serious injury.
