6EnglishFig.2-5 shows the hob layout. Areas A and B are pairedtogether as are areas D and E. The centre area C runsindependently, regardless of the use of other cooking areas.This means when using area A on power boost and thenswitching area B to power boost as well, then area A will haveits power slightly reduced. The last one of the pair switchedto power boost takes priority. Areas D and E work in the sameway. This is a built in safety device.Deactivate the Power Boost function by turning the controlknob to a lower setting.The Multi-function OvenThe oven is a multi-function oven (Fig.2-6). As well as theoven fan and fan element, it is fitted with two extra heatingelements, one visible in the top of the oven and the secondunder the oven base.Take care to avoid touching the top element and elementdeflector when placing or removing items from the oven.The multifunction oven has 3 main cooking functions, fan,fan assisted and conventional cooking. These functionsshould be used to complete most of your cooking.The browning element and base heat can be used in thelatter part of the cooking process to fine tune the results toyour particular requirements.Use fanned grilling for all your grilling needs and defrost tosafely thaw small items of frozen food.Table 2-3 gives a summary of the multi-function modes.Note: The multi-function oven has many varied uses. Wesuggest you keep a careful eye on your cooking until youare familiar with each function (Fig.2-7). Remember – not allfunctions will be suitable for all food types.Multi-function oven modesDefrostThis function operates the fan(s) to circulate cold aironly. No heat is applied. This enables small items suchas desserts, cream cakes and pieces of meat, fish andpoultry to be defrosted.Defrosting in this way speeds up the process and protectsthe food from contamination. Pieces of meat, fish and poultryshould be placed on a rack, over a tray to catch any drips. Besure to wash the rack and tray after defrosting.Defrost with the oven door closed. Defrosting should not becarried out in a warm oven.Large items, such as whole chickens and meat roasts shouldnot be defrosted in this way.
