Clean with a cloth dampenedwith soapy water. Dry with a soft cloth.Keep the outside clean. Wipe with a cleancloth lightly dampened with kitchenappliance wax or mild liquid dishdetergent. Dry and polish with a clean,soft cloth.Do not wipe the refrigerator with a soiled dishcloth or wet towel. These may leave a residuethat can erode the paint. Do not use scouringpads, powdered cleaners, bleach or cleanerscontaining bleach because these products canscratch and weaken the paint finish.Cleaning the InsideTo help prevent odors, leave an open boxof baking soda in the fresh food andfreezer compartments.Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning.If this is not practical, wring excessmoisture out of sponge or cloth whencleaning around switches, lights orcontrols.Use an appliance wax polish on theinside surface between the doors.Use warm water and baking soda solution—about a tablespoon (15 ml) of baking sodato a quart (1 l) of water. This both cleansand neutralizes odors. Rinse and wipe dry.After cleaning the door gaskets, apply athin layer of petroleum jelly to the doorgaskets at the hinge side. This helps keepthe gaskets from sticking and bendingout of shape.Avoid cleaning cold glass shelves (on somemodels) with hot water because the extremetemperature difference may cause them tobreak. Handle glass shelves carefully.
