Keep this book handy so you canrefer to it, especially during thefirst weeks of getting acquaintedwith your oven.Oven ControlsPREHEATING the oven, even tohigh temperature settings, is speedy—rarely more than about 10 minutes.Preheat the oven only whennecessary. Most foods will cooksatisfactorily without preheating.If you find preheating is necessary,keep an eye on the indicator lightOven LightThe light comes on automaticallywhen the door is opened. On modelswith oven window use switch toturn light on and off when dooris closed.Switch is located on front of doorand-put f;od in the oven prom~tly on some models, on control panelafter light goes out. on other models.Oven Interior ShelvesThe shelves are designed withstop-locks so that when placedcorrectly on the shelf supports,they (a) will stop before comingcompletely from the oven, and (b)will not tilt when removing foodfrom or placing food on them.TO REMOVE shelves from theoven, lift up rear of shelf, pullforward wfih stop-locks along topof shelf supports. Be certain thatshelf is cool before touching.TO REPLACE shelves in oven,insert shelf with stop-locks restingon shelf supports. Push shelf towardrear of oven; it will fall into place.When shelf is in proper position,The controls for the oven(s) are stop-locks on shelf will run undermarked OVEN SET and OVEN shelf support when shelf is pulledTEMP. OVEN SET has settin~s for forward.BAKE, TIME BAKE (on mo~els soequipped), BROIL, CLEAN and OFF. Shelf PositionsWhen you turn the knob to the desiredsetting, the proper heating units arethen activated for that operation.OVEN TEMP maintains thetemperature you set, from WARM(150”F.) to BROIL (550”F.) andalso at CLEAN (880°F. ).The Oven Cycling Light glowsuntil the oven reaches your selectedtemperature, then goes off and on withthe oven unit(s) during cooking.The oven has four shelf supportsmarked A (bottom), B, C and D(top).
