USING YOUR OVEN(continued)Oven LightUse the switch on the control panel to turn the light on and off.Oven MoistureAs your oven heats up, the temperature change of the air in the oven maycause water droplets to form on the door glass. These droplets are harmlessand will evaporate as the oven continues to heat up.Oven Thermostat AdjustmentThe temperature control in your new oven has beencarefully adjusted to provide accurate temperatures. However, if this oven has replaced one you have usedfor several years, you may notice a difference in thedegree of browning or the length of time requiredwhen using your favorite recipes because oventemperature controls have a tendency to “drift” over aperiod of years. Before attempting to have the temperature of yournew oven changed, be sure you have followed thebaking time and temperature of the recipe carefully. Then, after you have used the oven a few times andyou feel the oven is too hot or too cool, there is asimple adjustment you can make yourself on theOVEN TEMP knob.Pull the knob off the shaft and look at the back side. There is a disc in the center of the knob skirt with aseries of marks opposite a pointer.Note to which mark the pointer is pointing. To makean adjustment, carefully loosen (approximately oneturn), but do not completely remove the two screwsthat hold the skirt to the knob. Hold the knob blade inone hand and the outer skirt in the other hand.Note position ofpointer to marksbefore adjustmeLoosenonly thelockingscrewsWe suggest that you make the adjustment one markfrom the original setting and check oven performancebefore making any additional adjustments. After the adjustment is made press skirt and knobtogether and retighten screws so they are snug, but becareful not to overtighten. Re-install knob on rangeand check performance.NOTE: After an adjustment has been made to theOVEN TEMP knob, OFF and BROIL will not lineupwith the indicator mark on the control panel as theypreviously did. This condition is normal and will notcreate a problem.—To raise the oven temperature, move the pointer in thedirection of the arrow for RAISE. To lower thetemperature, move the pointer in the direction of thearrow for LOWER. Each mark will change the oventemperature approximately 20”F.—12
