If both answers are NO,either an air gap or a high drain loop (Method 2)may be used.Special consideration for a dishwasher installedon a pedestallf the dishwasher is installed on an elevatedplatform, a high drain loop of at least 32" above theplatform must be provided in addition to the air gaprequirement determined above.
