Do not use wax on the doorhandles and trim.Keep the outside clean. Wipe with a cleancloth lightly dampened with kitchenappliance wax or mild liquid dish detergent.Dry and polish with a clean, soft cloth.Do not wipe the refrigerator with a soileddish cloth or wet towel. These may leavea residue that can erode the paint. Do notuse scouring pads, powdered cleaners,bleach or cleaners containing bleachbecause these products can scratchand weaken the paint finish.The stainless steel panels and doorhandles. Stainless steel (on some models)can be cleaned with a commerciallyavailable stainless steel cleaner. A spray-onstainless steel cleaner works best.NOTE: The protective film may leave a residuethat will need to be cleaned.Do not use appliance wax, polish, bleach,abrasive cleaners or other productscontaining chlorine on stainless steel. Usingcleaners with chlorine, such as bleach, maypermanently affect the appearance of yournew refrigerator.Silver-accented plastic parts. Wash partswith soap or other mild detergents. Wipeclean with a sponge, damp cloth or papertowel.Do not scrub with steel-wool pads or otherabrasive cleaners.Cleaning the InsideTo help prevent odors, leave an open boxof baking soda in the refrigerator and freezercompartments.Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning.If this is not practical, wring excess moistureout of sponge or cloth when cleaning aroundswitches, lights or controls.Use an appliance wax polish on the insidesurface between the doors.Use warm water and baking soda solution—about a tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda toa quart (1 liter) of water. This both cleans andneutralizes odors. Rinse and wipe dry.After cleaning the door gaskets, apply a thinlayer of petroleum jelly to the door gasketsat the hinge side. This helps keep the gasketsfrom sticking and bending out of shape.Avoid cleaning cold glass shelves with hotwater because the extreme temperaturedifference may cause them to break.Handle glass shelves carefully.
