Cleanerswith oxalic acid such as Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser™ willremove surface rust, tarnish and small blemishes. Use only aliquid cleanser free of grit and rub in the direction of the brushlines with a damp soft sponge. Do not use appliance wax orpolish on the stainless steel.Silver-accented plastic parts.Wash parts with soap or other mild detergents. Wipe cleanwith a sponge, damp cloth or paper towel.Do not use scouring pads, powdered cleaners, bleach orcleaners containing bleach because these products canscratch and weaken the paint finish.Should drip tray need cleaning use lime remover.Cleaning the InsideTo help prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda inthe refrigerator and freezer compartments.Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning.If this is not practical, wring excess moisture out of sponge orcloth when cleaning around switches, lights or controls.Use an appliance wax polish on the inside surface betweenthe doors.8VHZDUPZDWHUDQGEDNLQJVRGDVROXWLRQ³DERXWDtablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda to a quart (1 liter) of water.This both cleans and neutralizes odors. Rinse and wipe dry.Behind the RefrigeratorBe careful when moving the refrigerator away from the wall. Alltypes of floor coverings can be damaged, particularly cushionedcoverings and those with embossed surfaces.Raise the leveling legs located at the bottom front of therefrigerator.Pull the refrigerator straight out and return it to position bypushing it straight in. Moving the refrigerator in a side directionmay result in damage to the floor covering or refrigerator.Lower the leveling legs until they touch the floor.When pushing the refrigerator back, make sure you don’troll over the power cord or water supply line.Preparing for VacationCAUTION Do not clean glass shelves or coverswith warm water when they are cold. Glass shelves andcovers may break if exposed to sudden temperaturechanges or impact such as bumping or dropping.Tempered glass is designed to shatter into many smallpieces if it breaks.Do not wash any plastic refrigerator parts in thedishwasher.For long vacations or absences, remove food and shut offpower to the refrigerator. Clean the interior (see Cleaning theInside). Leave the doors open.For shorter vacations, remove perishable foods andleave controls at regular settings. However, if the roomtemperature is expected to drop below 60°F (16°C), follow thesame instructions as for long vacations.Set the icemaker to OFF and be sure to shut off the watersupply to the refrigerator.
