(on some models)Before a Clean CycleRemove the shelves, broiler pan, broiler grid,probe (on some models), all cookware andany aluminum foil from the oven.The oven shelves and convection roasting rack(on some models)can be self-cleaned, but theywill darken, lose their luster and become hardto slide.Soil on the front frame of the range andoutside the gasket on the door will need to becleaned by hand. Clean these areas with hotwater, soap-filled steel-wool pads or cleanserssuch a Soft Scrub.® Rinse well with clean waterand dry.Do not clean the gasket. The fiberglass materialof the oven door gasket cannot withstandabrasion. It is essential for the gasket to remainintact. If you notice it becoming worn or frayed,replace it.Wipe up any heavy spillovers on the ovenbottom.Make sure the oven light bulb cover is in placeand the oven light is off.CAUTION: The grates and drip pans(on some models) should never be cleaned in theself-cleaning oven.IMPORTANT: The health of some birds is extremelysensitive to the fumes given off during the self-cleaningcycle of any range. It will not be possible to openthe oven door until the temperature dropsbelow the lock temperature and the LOCKEDDOOR light goes off.When the LOCKED DOOR light is off, openthe door.The oven shuts off automatically when theclean cycle is complete. The words LOCK DOOR will flash and the ovencontrol will signal if you set the clean cycle andforget to close the oven door. To stop a clean cycle, touch the CLEAR/OFF pad.When the LOCKED DOOR light goes off indicatingthe oven has cooled below the locking temperature,unlatch the door (on some models) and open the door.How to Set the Oven for Cleaning (on models with pads only)
