212 D90PLUS LINE DISTANCE PROTECTION SYSTEM – COMMUNICATIONS GUIDEDNP POINTS CHAPTER 3: DNP COMMUNICATIONDNP TCP Connection TimeoutRange: 10 to 300 seconds in steps of 1Default: 120 secondsThis setting specifies a time delay for the detection of dead network TCP connections. Ifthere is no data traffic on a DNP TCP connection for greater than the time specified bythis setting, the connection is aborted by the D90Plus. This frees the connection to be re-used by a client.Changes to this setting takes effect after power has been cycled to the relay.DNP pointsBinary input pointsThe DNP binary input data points are configured through the Settings > Communications> DNP > User Point List menu item. When a freeze function is performed on a binarycounter point, the frozen value is available in the corresponding frozen counter point. The binary input DNP parameters are as follows:• Static (steady-state) object number — 1• Change event object number — 2• Request function codes supported — 1 (read), 22 (assign class)• Static variation reported when variation 0 requested — 2 (binary input with status),configurable• Change event variation reported when variation 0 requested — 2 (binary input changewith time), configurable• Change event scan rate —16 times per power system cycle• Change event buffer size — 500• Default class for all points — 1Binary and control relay output pointsThe supported control relay output block fields are: Pulse On, Pulse Off, Latch On, Latch Off,Paired Trip, and Paired Close. The binary relay output DNP parameters are as follows:• Object number — 10• Request function codes supported — 1 (read)• Default variation reported when variation 0 requested — 2 (binary output status)The control relay output block DNP parameters are as follows:• Object number — 12• Request function codes supported — 3 (select), 4 (operate), 5 (direct operate), 6 (directoperate, no acknowledge)The binary and control relay output points correspond to protection virtual inputs andautomation virtual inputs as follows. Point N corresponds to virtual input N + 1. As such, wehave the following concordance:Point 0 → protection virtual input 1Point 1 → protection virtual input 2Point 2 → protection virtual input 3...Point 63 → protection virtual input 64
