13LoadingAs a general rule, if clothes aresorted properly for the washer, theyare sorted properly for the dryer.Sort by color(Separate colorfast fromnon-colorfast fabrics*)• Whites• Lights• DarksSeparate by fabric type• Cottons and linens• Permanent press cottonsand blends• Synthetic and poly knits• DelicatesSeparate lint producers fromlint collectors• Lint producers: terry cloth andchenille• Lint collectors: velveteen andcorduroySort by weight• Heavy Items• Light Items* Non-colorfast fabrics may bleed or fade. Sort byindividual color.Sorting• Avoid drying very small loads.• Sort clothes by weight so youwon’t have to run an extra cyclefor one or two heavier, slowerdrying items.• Do not add fabric softener sheetsonce the load has become warm.This may cause fabric softenerstains.• Do not overload. This causesinefficient operation andunnecessary wrinkling.
