Using the Warming ZoneThe WARMING ZONE, located in the backcenter of the glass surface, will keep hot,cooked food at serving temperature. Alwaysstart with hot food. Do not use to heat coldfood. Placing uncooked or cold food on theWARMING ZONE could result in food-borneillness.Push and turn the control knob to anydesired setting.For best results, all foods on theWARMING ZONE should be covered with a lidor aluminum foil. When warming pastries orbreads, the cover should be vented to allowmoisture to escape.Always use pot holders or oven mitts whenremoving food from the WARMING ZONE,since cookware and plates will be hot.CAUTION: Do not warm food on the WARMING ZONEfor more than two hours.NOTE: The surface warmer will not glow red like thecooking elements.A HOT surface indicator light will glow whenthe glass surface is hot and will remain onuntil the surface is cool enough to touch.Lower settings may not heat the glass surfaceenough to cause the HOT surface indicatorlight to come on.A WARMING ZONE indicator light will glowwhen the unit is on. Do not use plastic wrap to cover food. Plastic maymelt onto the surface and be very difficult to clean. You may hear slight clicking soundsduring cooking, indicating the control iskeeping the power level you set.A HOT COOKTOP indicator light will glowwhen any radiant element is turned on, andwill remain on until the surface is cooled toapproximately 150°F.Indicator light will: come on when the unit is turned on or hot to thetouch. stay on even after the unit is turned off. glow until the unit is cooled to approximately 150°F.Be sure you turn the control knob to OFFwhen you finish cooking.Dual Surface Unit Control KnobThe dual surface unit has 2 cooking sizes to select fromso you can match the size of the unit to the size of thecookware you are using.To use the small surface unit, turn the controlknob to the SMALL BURNER settings.To use the large surface unit, turn the controlknob to the LARGE BURNER settings.7Tri-Ring Surface Element (on some models)The rear center surface element offers 3 cooking areasto match the size of the cookware youare using.To use the largest cooking area, push in andturn the SELECTOR knob to 12″. Push andturn the control knob to the desired setting.To use the medium cooking area, press andturn the SELECTOR knob to 9″.Push down and turn the control knob to thedesired setting.To use the smallest cooking area, turn theSELECTOR knob to 6″.
