The finishon the outside of the freezer is a highquality, baked-on paint finish. With propercare, it will stay new-looking and rust-freefor years. Apply a coat of appliance polishwax when the freezer is new and then atleast twice a year. Appliance polish waxalso works well to remove tape residuefrom freezer surfaces.Keep the finish clean. Wipe with a cleancloth lightly dampened with appliancepolish wax or mild liquid dishwashingdetergent. Dry and polish with a clean, softcloth. Do not wipe the freezer with a soileddishwashing cloth or wet towel. Do not usescouring pads, powdered cleaners, bleach,or cleaners containing bleach.CAUTION: Care should be taken in movingthe freezer away from the wall. All types offloor coverings can be damaged,particularly cushioned coverings and thosewith embossed surfaces. Inside. Clean the inside of your freezer atleast once a year. We recommend that thefreezer be unplugged before cleaning. If thisis not practical, wring excess moisture outof sponge or cloth when cleaning in thevicinity of switches, lights or controls.Use warm water and baking sodasolution–about a tablespoon of bakingsoda to a quart of water. Rinse thoroughlywith water and wipe dry. Do not usecleaning powders or other abrasivecleaners. DO NOT wash removable parts ina dishwasher.An open box of baking soda in the freezerwill absorb stale freezer odors. Change thebox every three months.CAUTION: Damp objects stick to cold metalsurfaces. DO NOT touch interior metalsurfaces with wet or damp hands.CAUTION: Freezer must be unplugged toavoid electrical hazard from power sourcewhen defrosting unit.Some upright freezers are frost-free anddefrost automatically, but should becleaned occasionally.10No Defrosting (on No-Frost models)You never have to defrost your new No-Frostfreezer. It has been pre-set at the factory todefrost itself automatically.Package labels always remain clearly legible,and packages will remain easy to separateand remove.During defrosting, a slight noise may benoticed if the door is opened while the freezeris in the automatic defrosting cycle.
