7STEP 2: CHECK DOOR BALANCE• With the dishwasher on the wood base, check thedoor balance by opening and closing the door.• The door is properly balanced if it gently dropsfrom a 1/2 open position and does not rise fromthe full open position.• If necessary, increase or decrease tension asshown. Latch the door and adjust springs tocorrect balance.Dishwasher InstallationCAUTIONDo not remove the wood base until you are readyto install the dishwasher. The dishwasher will tip overwhen the door is opened if the base is removed.STEP 4: REMOVE ACCESS PANELAND TOEKICKThe top mounting holes in the access panel areslotted.• Remove the lower two 10-16x3/8" sheet metalscrews. Do not remove the two top 8-32x1/4"machine thread screws.• Slide the access panel to the left as far as it will go.• Gently pull the access panel forward to removeit from the top screws.Set access panel, toekick, and screws aside for usein Step 20.Tip: Preventtub damageRemove onlythe 3/8" sheetmetal screwsin this step.This will helpprevent a mixup with the1/4" machinethread screwsin Step 20.Figure GFigure HSTEP 1: PREPARATIONLocate the items in the installation package and setthem aside for use in the listed steps.• Screw kit–Steps 5 or 16 and 13• Junction box cover–Steps 5 or 16• Drain hose and drain hose clamp–Step 7• Owners’ Manual–Steps 18 and 21• Product Samples and/or coupons–Step 21STEP 3: REMOVE WOOD BASEIMPORTANT – Do not kick off wood base!Damage will occur.• Move the dishwasher close to the installationlocation and lay it on its back.• Remove the four levelinglegs from the underside ofthe wood basewith a 15/16"socket wrench.• Remove anddiscard woodbase.Tip: Avoid service calls for door balance problemsMake sure the spring end is fully engaged in aframe hole and the spring link is fully seated in thehinge arm.• Screw leveling legs back into the dishwasherframe, approximately 3/4" from the frame, asshown.ToekickSlide panel to the left and then gentlypull forward to removeDo not remove 1/4”machine thread screwsin this stepRemove two3/8” Sheet MetalThread Screws558Dia6Insert Hook ThroughHole from Inside of FrameLink fully seatedin hinge arm558Dia7Increase Tension Decrease TensionFigure I06M-2101AApprox3/4"
