46Installation InstructionsADJUST OVEN BURNER AIRADJUSTMENT SHUTTER IFNECESSARY8Air adjustment shutter for the bottom burner regulatesthe flow of air to the flames.The shutter for the bottom (oven) burner is near theback wall behind the warming drawer. Remove thedrawer. See the Care and cleaning of the range section.To adjust the flow of air to the burner, loosen thePhillips head screw and rotate the shutter toward openor closed position as needed.To determine if the bottom burner flames are burningproperly, remove the oven bottom. Flames should haveapproximately 1″ blue cones and, if range is suppliedwith natural gas, should burn with no yellow tipping.(With most LP gas, small yellow tips at the end of outercones are normal.) Flames should not lift off burnerports. If lifting is observed, gradually reduce air shutteropening until flames are stabilized.To remove the oven bottom:A. Remove the two screws securing the bake element tothe back of the oven and remove the element.B. Remove the knurled screws holding down rear of theoven bottom.C. Grasp the oven bottom at finger slots on each side.D. Lift the rear of the oven bottom enough to clear thelip of the range frame, push it back, and then pull itup and out.Air adjustmentshutterLoosenLEVELING THE RANGE9A. Install the oven shelves in the oven and position therange where it will be installed.B. Check for levelness by placing a spirit level or a cup,partially filled with water, on one of the oven shelves.If using a spirit level, take two readings—with thelevel placed diagonally first in one direction andthen the other.C. Remove the drawer. See the Care and cleaning of therange section. The front leveling legs can be adjustedfrom the bottom and the rear legs can be adjustedfrom the top or the bottom.D. Use an open-end or adjustable wrench to adjust theleveling legs until the range is level.E.
