(on some models)Throughout this manual, features and appearance may vary from your model.Indicator Lights (on radiant glass models only).A Hot indicator light will glow when anyradiant elements is turned on, and willremain on until the surface is cool enoughto touch.A Burner On indicator light will glow when anysurface unit is on.NOTE: The Hot indicator light may glow betweenthe surface control settings of Min and OFF, butthere is no power to the surface units.About the radiant surface units…The radiant cooktop features heating unitsbeneath a smooth glass surface.NOTE: A slight odor is normal when anew cooktop is used for the first time. It iscaused by the heating of new parts andinsulating materials and will disappear in ashort time.The surface unit will cycle on and off tomaintain your selected control setting.It is safe to place hot cookware from the ovenor surface on the glass surface when the surfaceis cool.Even after the surface units are turned off, theglass cooktop retains enough heat to continuecooking. To avoid over-cooking, remove pansfrom the surface units when the food is cooked.Avoid placing anything on the surface unituntil it has cooled completely.Do not slide cookware across the cooktopbecause it can scratch the glass --- the glassis scratch resistant, not scratch proof.Temperature LimiterEvery radiant surface unit has atemperature limiter.The temperature limiter protects the glasscooktop from getting too hot.Water stains (mineral deposits) areremovable using the cleaning cream orfull-strength white vinegar.Use of window cleaner may leavean iridescent film on the cooktop.The cleaning cream will remove thisdiscoloration.Don´t store heavy items above thecooktop. If they drop onto the cooktop,they can cause damage.Do not use the surface as a cuttingboard.The temperature limiter may cycle theunits off for a time if:The pan boils dry.The pan bottom is not flat.The pan is off center.There is no pan on the unit.SURFACECOOKINGDRAGGINGOFF CENTERNever cook directly on theglass.
