Cooking to these temperatures usually protects againstfoodborne illness.n The purpose of the warming drawer and theWARM ZONE setting of the lower oven draweris to hold hot cooked foods at servingtemperature. Always start with hot food;cold food cannot be heated or cooked in thewarming drawer or the WARM ZONE settingof the lower oven drawer.n Do not use the drawer to dry newspapers.If overheated, they can catch on fire.n Do not leave paper products, plastics, cannedfood, or combustible materials in the drawer.n Never leave jars or cans of fat drippingsin or near your drawer.n Do not warm food in the drawer for morethan two hours.n Never place, use or self-clean the lower ovendrawer pan in the upper oven.n Do not touch the heating elementor the interior surface of the drawer.These surfaces may be hot enough to burn.REMEMBER: The inside surface of the drawermay be hot when the drawer is opened.n Use care when opening the drawer. Openthe drawer a crack and let hot air or steamescape before removing or replacing food.Hot air or steam which escapes can causeburns to hands, face and/or eyes.n Do not use aluminum foil to line the lowerdrawer. The foil will trap heat below, andupset the performance of the oven. Foil canmelt and permanently damage the drawerbottom.
