Installation InstructionsWARNING!ANTI-TIP DEVICE• All ranges can tip.• BURNS or other SERIOUSINJURIEScan result.• INSTALL and CHECKtheANTI-TIP bracket followingthe instructions suppliedwith the bracket.To reduce the risk of tipping the range, the rangemust be secured by a properly installed anti-tipbracket. See installation instructions shippedwith the bracket for complete details beforeattempting to install.To check if the bracket is installed and engagedproperly, carefully tip the range forward. Thebracket should stop the range within 4 inches.If it does not, the bracket must be reinstalled.If the range is pulled from the wall for any reason,always repeat this procedure to verify the rangeis properly secured by the anti-tip bracket.For free-standing or slide-in ranges, nevercompletely remove the leveling legs or the rangewill not be secured to the anti-tip device properly.If you did not receive an anti-tip bracket with yourpurchase, call 1.800.626.8774 to receiveone at no cost (in Canada, call 1.800.561.3344).For installation instructions of the bracket,visit GEAppliances.com (in Canada,GEAppliances.ca).LOCATIONDo not locate the range where it mag be subject tostrong drafts. Ang openings in the floor or wall behindthe range should be sealed. Make sure the openingsaround the base of the range that supplg fresh air forcombustion and ventilation are not obstructed bgcarpeting or woodwork.Your range, like many other household items, is heavy andcan settle into soft floor coverings such as cushioned vinylor carpeting. Use care when moving the range on this typeof flooring. It is recommended that the following simple andinexpensive instructions be followed to protect your floor.The range should be installed on a sheet of plywood (orsimilar material).When the floor covering ends at the frontof the range, the area that the range will rest on should bebuilt up with plywood to the same level or higher than thefloor covering.This will allow the range to be moved for cleaning orservicing. Also, make sure your floor covering will withstand180°R(Seethe Installation Safety Instructions section.)Make sure the wall coverings around your range canwithstand the heat generated (up to 200°F)by the range.(Seethe Insta!!otion Safety Instructions section.)IMPORTANT!Remove all tape and packaging. Make sure the burnersare properlg seated and level.Take the accessorg pack out of the oven and/or drawer.Check to be sure that no range parts have come looseduring shipping.37
