Spillovers should be cleanedimmediately; they can clog the openings in theburner assemblies.Remove the burner grates, burner caps andburner heads for easy cleaning.NOTES:Do not attempt to remove the electrode fromthe cooktop or ang screws from the burnerhead or burner bose.Do not use steel wool or scouring powdersto cleon the burners.Burner Cups and HeadsWash burner caps and burner heads in hot,soapy water and rinse with clean runningwater. You may scour with a plastic scouringpad to remove burned-on food particles.Use a sewing needle or twist tie to unclog thesmall holes in the burner head, if required.To remove burned-on food, soak the burnerheads in a solution of mild liquid dishwashingdetergent and hot water for up to 20-30minutes, if required. For more stubborn stains,use a toothbrush.If the spill went inside the burner headassembly (right front burner on models JGP333,PGP943,and PGP966),wash it under runningwater. Shake to remove any excess water. Airdry and make sure the small ignitor holes areopen.NOTE: Do not wash any burner partsin a dishwasher.Burner BasesThe burner bases should not be removed forcleaning.To clean the burner bases, use soapy water anda plastic scouring pad. Hake sure that no watergets into the burner bases and the brass gasorifices.Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Allow them todry fully before using.Cooktop ElectrodeClean this metal partDo not clean thiswhite ceramic partwith an emery boardNOTE: Do not attempt to removethe electrode from the cooktop.ElectrodesThe electrode of the spark igniter is exposedbeyond the surface of the burner base. Whencleaning the cooktop, be careful not to snag theelectrode of the spark igniter with your cleaningcloth. Damage to the igniter could occur.Be careful not to push in any cooktop controlswhile cleaning the cooktop.A slight electrical shock might result whichcould cause you to knock overhot cookware.Hake sure that the white ceramic electrodesin the cooktop are clear of soil and dry. Cleanthe metal part of the electrode with a soft cloth.For stubborn, hardened soil, clean the metalportion of the electrode with an emery board.Do not clean the white ceramic portion of theelectrode with the emery board. It is acceptableto clean the white portion of the electrode witha soft cloth, but not with an emery board.Before reassembling the surface burners, pushdown on each of the white ceramic electrodesto make sure they are pressed against theburner bases.
