6Installation InstructionsINSTALLATION—GAS CONNECTIONSPROVIDE ADEQUATEGAS SUPPLYThis cooktop is designed to operate onnatural gas at 4″ of water column manifoldpressure and 7″ of water column (W.C.)supply pressure. It is shipped from thefactory set for natural gas. The convertiblepressure regulator supplied with the unitmust be connected in series with themanifold of the cooktop and must remain inseries with the supply line regardless ofwhether natural or L.P. gas is being used.FOR PROPER OPERATION, THE MAXIMUMINLET PRESSURE TO THE REGULATORMUST BE NO MORE THAN 14″ OF WATERCOLUMN PRESSURE. For checking theregulator, the inlet pressure must be at least1″ W.C.. (or 3.4 KPA) greater than theregulator output setting. If the regulator is setfor 4″ W.C. of water column pressure, theinlet pressure must be at least 5″ W.C. If theregulator is set for 10″ W.C., the inlet pressuremust be at least 11″ W.C.. The gas supply lineto the cooktop should be 1/2″ or 3/4″ pipe.1INSTALL REGULATORNEVER REUSE OLD CONNECTORS WHENINSTALLING THIS COOKTOP.WARNING: Never reuse oldflexible connectors. The use of old flexibleconnectors can cause gas leaks and personalinjury. Always use new flexible connectorswhen installing a gas appliance. To reduce the likelihood of gas leaks, applyteflon tape or a thread compound approvedfor use with LP or Natural gases to allthreaded connections.2Screw a section of pipeonto the inlet end of thepressure regulator andinstall the coupling.INSTALL REGULATOR ONTOBURNER BOX BOTTOMScrew theregulator ontothe burner boxbottom pipeconnection.Make sure thetop of theregulator isfacing towards thecabinet front, easily accessiblethrough thecabinet doors.3COMPLETE CONNECTIONWITH A COUPLINGComplete theconnectionbetween theregulator pipecoupling andthe shut-off valve.4PressureRegulatorPressureRegulatorShut-OffValveCouplingElectricalOutlet 12″BelowCountertopCouplingPressureRegulatorShut-OffValveCouplingElectricalOutlet 12″BelowCountertop
