Donot use any sharp items to remove thefilm. Remove all of the film before usingthe appliance for the first time.To assure no damage is done to thefinish of the product, the safest way toremove the adhesive from packaging tapeon new appliances is an application of ahousehold liquid dishwashing detergent.Apply with a soft cloth and allow to soak.NOTE: The adhesive must be removed from allparts. It cannot be removed if it is baked on.Oven VentThe oven is vented through an openingunder the right rear surface unit. Never cover the opening with aluminum foil orany other material.Control Panel and KnobsClean up spatters with a damp cloth.Remove heavier soil with warm,soapy water.Do not use abrasives of any kind on the controlpanel.The control knobs may be removed for easiercleaning.Make sure the knobs are in the OFFpositions and pull them straight off thestems for cleaning.The knobs can be cleaned in adishwasher or they may also be washedwith soap and water. Make sure the insidesof the knobs are dry before replacing.Replace the knobs in the OFF positionto ensure proper placement.Pull the knob straight off the stem.Porcelain Enamel CooktopThe porcelain enamel finish is sturdybut breakable if misused. This finish isacid-resistant. However, any acidic foodsspilled (such as fruit juices, tomato orvinegar) should not be permitted toremain on the finish. If acids spill on thecooktop while it is hot, use a dry papertowel or cloth to wipe it up right away.When the surface has cooled, wash withsoap and water. Rinse well.For other spills such as fat spatterings, washwith soap and water or cleansing powders afterthe surface has cooled. Rinse well. Polish with adry cloth.Painted SurfacesPainted surfaces include the sides andthe drawer front.Clean these with soap and water ora vinegar and water solution.Do not use commercial oven cleaners,cleaning powders, steel wool or harshabrasives on any painted surface.Stainless Steel Surfaces (on some models)Do not use a steel wool pad; it will scratchthe surface.To clean the stainless steel surface,use warm sudsy water or a stainless steelcleaner or polish. Always wipe the surfacein the direction of the grain.
