Graspfirmly on each side and lift thedoor straight up and off the hinges.NOTE: Be careful not to placehands between the hinge and theoven door frame as the hinge couldsnap back and pinch fingers.To replace thedoor, make surethe hinges arein the specialstop position. Do not allow food spillswith a high sugar or acid content(such as milk, tomatoes,sauerkraut, fruit juices or piefilling) to remain on the surface.They may cause a dull spot evenafter cleaning.l Household ammonia may makethe cleaning job easier. Place1/2 cup in a shallow glass orpottery container in a cold ovenovernight. The ammonia fumeswill help loosen the burned-ongrease and food.l If necessary, you may usean oven cleaner. Followpackage directions.Porcelain Oven InteriorWith proper care, the porcelain enamel finish on theinside of the oven—top, bottom, sides, back and insideof the door—will stay new-looking for years.Let range cool before cleaning. We recommend thatyou wear rubber gloves when cleaning the range.Soap and water will normally do the job. Heavyspattering or spillovers may require cleaning with amild abrasive cleaner. You mayalso use a glass cleaner to cleanthe glass on the outside of thedoor.l Spillage of marinades, fruitjuices, tomato sauces and bastingmaterials containing acids maycause discoloration and should bewiped up immediately. Whensurface is cool, clean and rinse.l Do not use oven cleaners,cleansing powders or harshabrasives on the outside ofthe door.If necessary, you may use an oven cleaner.Follow package directions.Cautions about using spray-on oven cleaners:l Do not spray on the electrical controls and switchesbecause it could cause a short circuit and result insparking or fire.l Do not allow a film from the cleaner to build up onthe temperature sensor—it could cause the oven toheat improperly. (The sensor is located at the top ofthe oven.) Carefully wipe the sensor clean after eachoven cleaning, being careful not to move the sensoras a change in its position could affect how the ovenbakes.l Do not spray any oven cleaner on the oven door,handles or any exterior surface of the oven, wood orpainted surfaces. The cleaner can damage thesesurfaces.20
