Aluminum residuessometimes appear as scratches on thecooktop, but can be removed if cleanedimmediately. Because of its low meltingpoint, thin weight aluminum should notbe used.Copper Bottom:recommendedCopper may leave residues which canappear as scratches. The residues canbe removed, as long as the cooktop iscleaned immediately. However, do not letthese pots boil dry. Overheated metal canbond to glass cooktops. An overheatedcopper bottom pot will leave a residuethat will permanently stain the cooktopif not removed immediately.Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron:recommended if bottom of pan is coatedPorcelain Enamel on Steel:not recommendedHeating empty pans can causepermanent damage to cooktop glass.The enamel can melt and bond to theceramic cooktop.Glass-ceramic:not recommendedPoor performance. Will scratch thesurface.Stoneware:not recommendedPoor performance. May scratch thesurface.Cast Iron:not recommended—unless designed specificallyfor glass cooktopsPoor conductivity and slow to absorbheat. Will scratch the cooktop surface.Check pans for flat bottoms by usinga straight edge.Pans with rounded, curved,ridged or warped bottoms arenot recommended.For Best Results■ Place only dry pans on the surfaceelements. Do not place lids on thesurface elements, particularly wetlids.■ Do not use woks that have supportrings. This type of wok will not heaton glass surface elements.■ We recommend that you use only aflat-bottomed wok. They are availableat your local retail store. The bottomof the wok should have the samediameter as the surface elementto ensure proper contact.■ Some special cooking proceduresrequire specific cookware such aspressure cookers, deep-fat fryers, etc.All cookware must have flat bottomsand be the correct size.Do not place wet panson the glass cooktop.Do not use woks with supportrings on the glass cooktop.Use flat-bottomed wokson the glass cooktop.NOTE: Follow all cookware manufacturer’s recommendations when using any type of cookware on theceramic cooktop.8
