This appliance must be suppliedwith the proper voltage and frequency, andconnected to an individual, properly groundedbranch circuit, protected by a circuit breakeror fuse acceptable for the indicated wattageon the name plate. Have the installer show you the location of thecircuit breaker or fuse. Mark it for easyreference. Do not leave children alone—children shouldnot be left alone or unattended in an areawhere an appliance is in use. They shouldnever be allowed to sit or stand on anypart of the appliance. Teach children not to play with the controls orany other part of the cooktop. Do not allow anyone to climb, stand or hang onthe cooktop. CAUTION: Items of interest to childrenshould not be stored in cabinets above acooktop—children climbing on the cooktopto reach items could be seriously injured. Always keep combustible wall coverings,curtains or drapes a safe distance fromyour cooktop. Always keep dishtowels, dish cloths, pot holdersand other linens a safe distance away from yourcooktop. Always keep wooden and plastic utensils andcanned food a safe distance away from yourcooktop. They may become hot and couldcause burns. Never wear loose-fitting or hanging garmentswhile using the appliance. Flammable materialcould be ignited if brought in contact with hotsurface elements and may cause severe burns. Use only dry pot holders—moist or damp potholders on hot surfaces may result in burnsfrom steam. Do not let pot holders touch hotsurface elements. Do not use a towel or otherbulky cloth. Such cloths can catch fire on a hotsurface element. For your safety, never use your appliance forwarming or heating the room. Do not use water on grease fires. Never pick upa flaming pan. Turn the controls off. Smother aflaming pan on a surface element by coveringthe pan completely with a well-fitting lid, cookiesheet or flat tray. Use a multi-purpose drychemical or foam-type extinguisher. Flaming grease outside a pan can be put outby covering with baking soda or, if available,by using a multi-purpose dry chemical orfoam-type fire extinguisher. Do not flame foods on the cooktop.
