After cleaning, rinse the racks andrack with clean water and dry with aclean cloth.NOTE: The oven racks and convection roastingrack may be cleaned in the self-cleaning oven.However, the racks will darken in color, lose theirluster and become hard to slide if cleaned duringthe self-cleaning cycle. You can wipe the racksupports with cooking oil after self-cleaning tomake the racks slide more easily.Roasting rackOven rackOffset rack (27″ models only)ProbeThe temperature probe may be cleanedwith soap and water or a soap-filledscouring pad. Cool the temperatureprobe before cleaning. Scour stubbornspots with a soap-filled scouring pad,rinse and dry. Do not immerse the temperature probein water. Do not store the temperature probe inthe oven.ge.comBroiler Pan & GridDo not clean the broiler pan or grid in aself-cleaning oven.After broiling, remove the broiler panfrom the oven. Remove the grid from thepan. Carefully pour out the grease fromthe pan into a proper container.Wash and rinse the broiler pan and gridin hot water with a soap-filled or plasticscouring pad.If food has burned on, sprinkle the gridwith detergent while hot and cover withwet paper towels or a dishcloth. Soakingthe pan will remove burned-on foods.Both the broiler pan and grid may becleaned with a commercial oven cleaner.Both the broiler pan and grid can also becleaned in a dishwasher.Do not store a soiled broiler pan and gridanywhere in the oven.After broiling, remove the broilerpan from the oven.Oven Heating ElementsDo not clean the broil element. Any soilwill burn off when the element is heated.The bake element is not exposed andis under the removable oven floor. Ifspillovers, residue or ash accumulateon the removable oven floor, wipe upbefore self-cleaning.To clean the bake element area, take outthe removable floor (see the RemovableOven Floor section) and gently lift thebake element. Clean with warm soapywater. Always replace the removable floorbefore next use.NOTE: Failure to replace the removable floor willadversely affect the cooking performance.Control PanelIt’s a good idea to wipe the controlpanel after each use. Clean with mildsoap and water or vinegar and water,rinse with clean water and polish drywith a soft cloth.Do not use abrasive cleansers, strongliquid cleansers, plastic scouring pads oroven cleaners on the control panel—theywill damage the finish. A 50/50 solutionof vinegar and hot water works well.
