Using the probe. ConsomemodesFor many foods, especially roasts and poultry, internal food temperature is the best test for doneness. The temperatureprobe takes the guesswork out of roasting by cooking foods to the exact aloneness you want.The temperature probe has askewer-like probe at one end anda plug at the other end that goesinto the outlet in the oven.Use of probes other than the one provided withthis product may result in damage to the probeor oven control.Use the handles of the probe and plug wheninserting and removing them from the foodand outlet.Toavoid damaging your probe, do not usetongs to pull on the cable when removing it.Toavoid breaking the probe, make sure foodis completely defrosted before inserting.Toprevent possible burns, do not unplugthe probe from the outlet until the oven hascooled.HandlesNever leave your probe inside the ovenduring a self-cleaning cycle.Do not store the probe in the oven.After preparing the meat and placingit on a trivet or on a broiler pan grid,follow these directions for proper probeplacement.Insert the probe completely into themeet. It should not touch bone, fetor gristle.For roasts with no bone, insert the probeinto the meatiest part of the roast. Hake sure it's pushed all theway in. Close the oven door. Hakesure the probe cable is not touchingthe broil element.[] Touch the PROBE pad.[]Touch the number pads to setthe desired internal food or meattemperature. The maximum internaltemperature for the food that you canset is 200°F (93°@.ms] Touch the BAKE pad.Touch the number pads to set theF61 desired oven temperature.IZ] Touch the STARTpad.Thedisplay will flash if the probe is insertedinto the outlet and you have not set a probetemperature and touched the STARTpad.After the internal temperature ofthe food reaches Z00°F(38°C),thechanging internal temperature will beshown in the display.[] When the internal temperature of thefood reaches the numberyou haveset, the probe and the oven turn offand the oven control signals.To stopthe signal, touch the CLEAR/OFFpad.Use hot pads to remove the probefrom the food. Do not use tongs topull on it-they might damage it.To change the oven temperature duringthe Roastcycle, touch the BAKEpad andthen the number pads to set the newtemperature.If the probe is removed from the foodbefore the final temperature is reached,atone will sound and the display will flashuntil the probe is removed from the oven.You can use the timer even thoughyou cannot use timed oven operationswhile using the probe.
