GEAppliances.comThe temperature controls are preset in the factory at 37°F for therefrigerator compartment and 0°F for the freezer compartment. Allow24 hours for the temperature to stabilize to the preset recommendedsettings.The temperature controls can display both the SET temperatureas well as the actual temperature in the refrigerator and freezer.The actual temperature may vary slightly from the SET temperaturebased on usage and operating environment.Setting either or both controls to OFF stops cooling in both the freezerand refrigerator compartments, but does not shut off electrical powerto the refrigerator.NOTE: The refrigerator is shipped with protective film covering thetemperature controls. If this film was not removed during installation,remove it now.The Performance Air-Flow System is designed tomaximize temperature control in the refrigeratorand freezer compartments. This unique specialfeature consists of the Air Tower along the backwall of the refrigerator and the Air Tunnel on thebottom portion of the freezer rear wall. Placing foodin front of the louvers on these components will notaffect performance. Although the Air Tower andthe Air Tunnel can be removed, doing so will affecttemperature performance. InCanada, contact us at geappliances.ca or call1.800.361.3400.)Performance Air Flow SystemTo change the temperature, press and release theWARMER or COLDER pad. The SET light will comeon and the display will show the set temperature.To change the temperature, tap either theWARMER or COLDER pad until the desiredtemperature is displayed. Refrigerator temperaturescan be adjusted between 34°F and 44°F and thefreezer temperatures can be adjusted between–6°F and +6°F.Once the desired temperature has been set,the temperature display will return to the actualrefrigerator and freezer temperatures after 5seconds. Several adjustments may be required.Each time you adjust controls, allow 24 hours for therefrigerator to reach the temperature you have set.To turn the cooling system off, tap the WARMER padfor either the refrigerator or the freezer until thedisplay shows OFF. To turn the unit back on, press theCOLDER pad for either the refrigerator or freezer.The SET light will illuminate on the side youselected. Then press the COLDER pad again (on theside where the SET light is illuminated) and it willgo to the preset points of 0°F for the freezer and37°F for the refrigerator. Setting either or bothcontrols to OFF stops cooling in both the freezerand refrigerator compartments, but does not shutoff electrical power to the refrigerator.5
