Consumer Support Troubleshooting Tips Operating Instructions Safety InstructionsInstallationInstructions12About the automatic icemaker.Automatic IcemakerThe icemaker will produce seven cubesper cycle—approximately 100–130 cubesin a 24-hour period, depending on freezercompartment temperature, roomtemperature, number of door openingsand other use conditions.If the refrigerator is operated before thewater connection is made to the icemaker,set the power switch in the OFF position.When the refrigerator has been connectedto the water supply, set the power switchto the ON position.The icemaker will fill with water when it coolsto 15°F (–10°C). A newly installed refrigeratormay take 12 to 24 hours to begin makingice cubes.You will hear a buzzing sound each timethe icemaker fills with water.Throw away the first few batches of iceto allow the water line to clear.Be sure nothing interferes with the sweepof the feeler arm.When the bin fills to the level of the feelerarm, the icemaker will stop producing ice.It is normal for several cubes to be joinedtogether.If ice is not used frequently, old ice cubes willbecome cloudy, taste stale and shrink.Special note about dispenser models: Dispenser models have a tilt-out ice bin.The bin can be tilted out as shown in theillustrations, and it will hold itself up whileyou take ice out or turn the icemakerpower switch on and off. Be sure to put thebin back in place before closing the door. To restore your ice level from an emptybucket stage, the following steps arerecommended:12 hours after the first batch of ice hasfallen into the bin, dispense 3 to 4 cubes.After an additional 6 hours, dispense3 to 4 cubes again.These steps will restore your ice level inthe shortest amount of time.A newly installed refrigerator may take 12 to 24 hours to begin making ice.Pull the bin forward until thebin stops.Removing Ice Bin (dispenser models)CAUTION: The ice bin is heavy when full.Set the power switch to the OFF positionbefore removing the bin.When replacing the bin, be sure to pressit firmly into place. If it does not go all theway back, remove it and rotate the drivemechanism 1/4 turn.
