Circuit breakers and other operating mechanisms exercised.2. Electrical insulation resistance tested phase-to- phaseand phase-to-ground.3. Relays, meters and instruments properly connected.4. Electrically operated circuit breakers and operatingmechanisms exercised.5. Ground fault protection system tested.6. Adjustable trips properly set.7. Field wiring secured and free of live bus.8. Grounding connections made.9. All debris, scrap wire, etc., removed.10. All covers installed, doors closed and latched.8. Energizing The SwitchgearEnergizing switchgear for the first time is potentiallydangerous. Therefore, qualified electrical personnelshould be present when the equipment is energized.If problems caused by damage or poor installationpractices have not been detected in the abovechecklist, serious damage can result when power isturned on.CAUTION
