When it is in this position, the vent door is closed and onlyindoor air is filtered, cooled orheated and circulated by the airconditioner.Switching the knob to OPEN opensthe vent door to allow some outsideair to enter the room. However, cooling or heating effectiveness isreduced when the control is set atOPEN, so we suggest you don’tkeep it there long.If the knob is not set all the way inthe CLOSE position, the vent lightwill remain on.Do:LOSEFANCYCLE ~ CONT– HEATING ECONOMY —NORMAL ~ MAXIMUM‘FmoNUNIT ~IOWERUnit Power Switch~This switch is set at ON at thefactory to allow the air conditionerto operate in the cool, heat or fanonly modes and the Freeze Sentinelto operate if it is needed. If this switch is set at OFF, the airconditioner will not operate in anymode and the Freeze Sentinel willnot function.Caution: The Unit Power Switchis not a power disconnect. If allpower must be disconnected fromthe unit, remove the line cord plugfrom the wall outlet, or remove thefuses, or turn off the circuitbreakers at the power panel.Fan Cycle Switch—This switch is set at CONT at thefactory to provide continuous fanoperation in cool or heat modes. Ifyou want the fan to cycle on and offwith the compressor or resistanceheater, set the switch at ~CLE.Heating fionomy Switch—For maximum heating economy, this switch is set at MAXIMUMat the factory. Until the outside airtemperature drops to 15°F., the heatpump is the primary source of heat.At 15°F. and below, full resistanceheat takes over.Set this switch at NORMAL andthe change from heat pump toresistance heating occurs when theoutside air temperature drops to35°F.4
