16Ice makerThe ice maker makes ice cubes.The ice maker starts to make ice cubes as soon asthe appliance has reached the set temperature. Ifthe ice cube container is full, the ice makerautomatically switches off.The ice maker can make approx. 1.2 kg ice cubeswithin 24 hours.ã CautionDo not place bottles or food in the cube container inorder to cool them quickly. The ice maker may blockand be damaged.Switching onNoteIf the ice maker is used for the first time and/or a longperiod of not being used, do not use the ice which isproduced in the first day for hygiene reasons. Throwthe ice cubes away and clean the container!1. Make sure that ice maker container is its placeand locked into position.2. Press ice maker button ².The symbol ICE is lit on the display panel.Switching offNoteBefore switching off the ice maker, it is mostimportant that you switch the water supply tothe appliance off for a few hours.Press ice maker button ² .Water filterã WarningDo not use the appliance in places where the waterquality is risky or not sufficiently known about withoutsuitable disinfection, before and after filtering.A replacement filter screen can be purchased fromcustomer service or a specialist dealer.ã Caution▯ After installing a new filter, always discard the iceproduced within the first 24 hours after switchingon the ice maker.▯ If the ice has not been used for a prolongedperiod, pour all ice cubes out of the containerand also discard the ice produced within the next24 hours.Installing water filter1. Insert filter screen into the filter housing.2. Place seal in the filter housing and connect tothe tap (¾" threaded connection).3. Using an open-end wrench, connect water supplyhose with seal to the filter housing.4. Carefully turn on the tap and check thatthe connection points are not leaking.ã =CautionThere must be no leaking water!If required, tighten the threaded connectionsto a higher torque.
